Ocean City Boys Cross Country

Ocean City High School’s Casey McLees and Anthony Conte each took first place at the Cape May County Championships at Cape May County Park on Thursday.

McLees finished the 5K race in 18 minutes, 51.66 seconds to win the girls championship while Conte took first in 16:01.27 to win the boys title. The Red Raiders won the overall scoring title in both meets as well, finishing with 18 points in the boys race and 29 points in the girls meet.

Gavyn Fox finished second for the Red Raiders in 16:01.83, and Leo Zaccaria came in third for Cape May Tech, which finished fourth with 103 points. Wildwood Catholic finished second overall with 63 points, and Lower Cape May finished third with 81 points.

Christina Adams took second for Lower in the girls meet (18:56.85), and Rebecca Millar came in third for Ocean City (19:05.16). Wildwood Catholic was second with 39 points, and Cape May Tech came in third with 87 points.

Southern girls win Ocean County title

Southern Regional’s girls team won the Ocean County Championships, held at Ocean County Park, with 59 points. Gianna Citarella finished ninth for the Rams in 19:43, followed by teammate Emily Furlong at 10th. Lillian Sarno took seventh place for Barnegat in 19:25.

Jackson Braddock came in fifth for Southern in the boys race in 16:17. Toms River North took the title with a first place finish overall with 50 points.
