The Minnesota Twins demoted Cody Stashak to the triple-A Rochester Red Wings on Tuesday.
Stashak, 25, is a 2012 Oakcrest High School graduate who also pitched for Cumberland County College and St. John’s University.
The rookie relief pitcher was demoted for the second time in a week.
He was first demoted Aug. 14 but but recalled two days later.
In his most recent appearance, he got the final two outs of the Twins’ 10-inning, 7-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.
He got Jose Ramirez to fly out and Jason Kipnis to pop out.
Stashak was 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA in six relief appearances for the Twins. In 81/3 innings, he gave up 13 hits, no walks and struck out nine.
Stashak also made 31 combined appearances (two starts) for the double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos and triple-A Rochester, going 7-3 with a 3.38 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 502/3 innings.
