Triple digit heat and a foot plus of rain: July 2019 South Jersey Climate Roundup

Our first 100 degree day since 2012 came on the same month where this South Jersey town topped out at over a foot of rain. First, though, Meteorologist Joe Martucci recaps his night of meeting Shwayze (0:37). New Jersey State Climatologist Dave Robinson then talks about the seventh hottest year on record and the seven day heat wave (1:40). Big time heat came with big time rain and one town saw two separate 5 inch events (10:40). Martucci and Robinson also talk the extreme upwelling Atlantic City during July and whether climate change will influence this (22:15). Lastly, how hard is it for New Jersey to get a direct tropical landfall (24:18)?
